Where did Luke Retold come from?
Uncommon Voices: Luke's Gospel Retold was originally presented live at Old South Church in Boston under the auspices of The Massachusetts Bible Society and at the Union Congregational Church, UCC in Madbury, New Hampshire.
Who is involved artistically in the DVD?
The text was adapted prayerfully by Maren C. Tirabassi, staged for presentation in a church setting by Donald Tirabassi with two professional actors Leslie Alan Coates and Christopher Savage, and directed for television by Salam Tims.
How can I use the DVD?
It is an engaging sixty-five minute video performance for one evening's program. It can also be divided into a series of four sessions. Particular scenes can be selected for morning worship or small group programming. Section listing is keyed to the scripture.
Can I get the script?
The script Luke Retold is available with the DVD and a study guide. It can be performed with as few as two players or a larger group. All ages enjoy "taking part."
How do I find scripture passages?
The DVD has section selection pauses based on scripture as does the Script.
With whom would I use the study guide?
The study guide (which comes with the full script) can be used in personal reflection, Bible Study groups, youth groups and retreat settings.
How would I use it?
There are four different possibilities for a complete screening of Luke: Retold with opening and closing prayers, a community building activity and discussion questions. One of these is tailored to an intergenerational or youth audience. A series of four sessions, each using sixteen minute segments of the DVD, include questions, activities and gathering and closing worship. Two "choose your own text" possibilities offer an opportunity to isolate a small section of text and respond to it. "Mix and match" from this diverse offering is encouraged.

Is there any other program based on Luke Retold?
Maren Tirabassi or Leslie Alan Coates will come to groups and lead a program that follows viewing of the DVD about the impact of dramatic presentation in experiencing the Gospel, citing materials as diverse as a children's Christmas pageant, chancel drama, "The Cotton Patch Gospel," "Jesus Christ Superstar," or "The Passion of the Christ,." this also includes a workshop for effective lay reading .
